RED PACKETS FOR NANNY
As some employers may be unaware, the normal market rate for a confinement nanny red packet for arrival is $30 and above, while the departure red packet is $50 and above. However, at PEM, there is no minimum or maximum amount set by us.

NANNY JOB SCOPES
It is best if employers could help ensure that their confinement nanny works within their job scopes as it is well-designed to prevent overworked confinement nannies who are unable to provide the best care for both mother and baby.

DAILY MEALS PREPARATION
If necessary, an employer’s confinement nanny can cook additional portions of a mother’s meals for other members of her family at a cost of $50 per person. However, it is best to have the confinement nanny cook solely for the mother to allow her to focus on her primary job of baby care.

CLEANING UP AFTER MEALS
It is best if employers could set their mealtimes appropriately to give their confinement nanny enough time to clean up after meals. If meals, such as dinner, are taken late, it is appreciated if employers allow their confinement nanny to clean up the next morning.

HELPING HAND FOR NANNY
It is greatly appreciated if employers can help take over baby care when their confinement nanny is away on other duties, particularly daily meals preparation. This allows the confinement nanny to ensure that kitchen hygiene and food safety rules are followed at all times, ensuring the health and well-being of every member of the family. Additionally, this will provide the mother with an excellent opportunity to bond with her baby.

THREE MEALS A DAY
At least three meals per day (rice with a small portion of meat and vegetable) shall be prepared for the confinement nanny. This is to provide the confinement nanny with the energy needed to care for both mother and baby day and night.

NANNY REST PERIOD
We ask for employers’ kind understanding in providing their confinement nanny with at least 2-3 hours of nap or rest period to allow for optimal performance of night-time duties. It is also greatly appreciated if employers could provide at least a 6-inch-thick mattress, preferably with a bedframe (if possible). A mattress that is too thin may make it difficult for the confinement nanny to perform her night-time duties, as well as cause back or health problems.

LOOKING OUT FOR NANNY
To avoid an employer’s confinement nanny physically straining herself or tiring out easily, we ask that the frequency of the confinement nanny having to climb up and down the stairs be reduced. It is also appreciated that proper care for other older family members is put in place.
